Inclusive economic development initiative that focuses on mainstreaming disability inclusion in technical vocational training institutions and labour market in Ethiopia, particularly in Addis Ababa, Southern Nation and Nationalities region and Oromia region.
Through this initiative we have already supported 264 youth with disabilities since 2014 with the professional expertise of local partners – Ethiopian Centre for Disability and Development (ECDD) and Cheshire Services Ethiopia (CSE). EmployAble Ethiopia has an extensive employers’ network that is also linked to Ethiopian Business and Disability Network chaired by our partner ECDD. So far, EmployAble Ethiopia initiative have established relationship with around five small and medium scale employers who provided internship to and/or employed youth with disabilities.
Next to employers our private sector partners in Ethiopia are working closely in partnership with Bureau of Labor and Social Affairs (BOLSA) both at Federal and regional levels, Urban Food security and Job creation office, Federal TVET Agency (FTA), local Administration/Mayor’s office and Small and Micro enterprise development bureaus.
